Retention policy applied, but keeping latest version of the file

The customer is looking for a feature like:
1) Alice edits file, hits save: keep up to 10 versions.
2) Alice is done with file and makes no further changes.
3) After 18 months, all versions except the current version are erased.
4) The current version should persist forever.
I like this idea
