Prevent users from moving above size threshold
Needs Review
Good morning,
We had an "incident" today where a user renamed a 100GB folder that caused a massive folder duplication and hang of FileCloud. Is it possible to add a max file / folder move restriction to network shares from any connected source (Web, Drive, Desktop, etc.)?
Hi Kent,
Thanks for reporting the incident. We would like to understand the problem a bit better. Can you provide additional context about the following:
1. How many copies of files/folders got duplicated?
2. How was the duplication created? Was it a combination of original copy of folder and files plus new renamed copy or 2 or more renamed copy of the files and folders?
3. Was it just the files in the folder that were duplicated or both files and the folder?
4. Is the folder and/or the containing files shared? If yes, was there a duplicate that the share recipient now have access to or did they have access to all duplicates?
5. Are there other configurations that were applied to the folder before it was renamed? i.e., workflow, lock, share
Regards,
Chibs A.
