Additional storage locations/Network Shares permissions

While the Network Shares feature is reasonably good, network shares arn't really 'first class' citizens in FileCloud. FileCloud's folder permissions mechanism, for example, doesn't extend to Network Shares.

It would be nice if it were possible to, for example, store critical data in one location that resides on fast storage, but place less important data in a completely different location/volume/whatever that is backed by lower quality storage.

Possible ways of accomplishing this I can think of off the top of my head:

1. Provide functionality similar to the traditional Unix mount behaviour where you can mount a volume against any folder.

2. Allow the existence of multiple Team Folders, with the option of having a dedicated data directory for it. For simplicity, inherit all existing settings (encryption, etc) from the main store.

3. Enable FileCloud to support Network Shares as first-class citizens, with folder-level permissions, etc.

4. Allow FileCloud to support multiple Storage Paths. They would appear Possibly under Team Folders or Network Shares, or possibly an entirely new top-level folder.

Thanks for the feedback. Interesting features described here, we will consider this. Is only Folder Level Permissions the only that is missing from Network Shares that prevent you from using it?

That's the primary issue we have, yes. Or more accurately, Network Shares are significantly less useful without them. I was planning on working around the issue by creating multiple shares, with their own set of permission each, but that's less than ideal and limits what we can do with them.
