Downloaded user - Anonymous

When a file is downloaded, only anonymous is show in the audit as well as the user activity feed. If the email of the user downloading the file/folder is shown it will help in analysis for auditing and resend the files to the users who have not yet downloaded.

Thanks for the feedback. So just to clarify you are requesting users who login to download files also provide some information before they access it? (Even if it is a public share?)

No. When you look at the audit, filtered by downloaded, it only shows anonymous if the user is not a named File Share user. So if the file has been sent via an invite to 3 people e.g. 1@2.com, 2@3.com and 3@4.com, it shows anonymous downloaded the file, we would like to see the email id so that we can identify who downloaded and when.

OK understood, so basically the link send to each user is customized so that the user who is clicking on the link is identifiable (without them actually having to enter the information when they open the link)

Perhaps i am missing something, when you send a invite out, the users get a link and they don't have to enter any information as far as registering to access the shared documents. Yes, if you have a individual link with built in email id tracking then that makes sense.

Right, that's exactly what we are thinking that can work.

The other option is that they can be prompted to enter some identifying information like name when accessing the link. But a built-in email is far less work.

This feature is already supported in 18.1.
