Quick edit for single file shares

Hi,

Could I request the ability to use the 'quick edit' function when sharing a file.

Currently when I share a single file the other user has to download the file and then upload it back after making any changes.

These are FileCLoud full license users so they would have the sync app so using the 'quick edit' function makes sense.

I know they get this function when a folder is shared but that wouldn't work for quickly and easily being able to collaborate on a document.

Hopefully this is an easy addition.

Thanks

Thanks for this feedback. We have opened an internal ticket to investigate this.

Similarly, it would be nice if you could use Office 365 co-authoring on a single file rather than having to share an entire folder.

Any news on this? Is it likely to happen at some point as it's quite a big deal in our environment.

Currently, single file shares don't have upload permissions, they are read only, so implementing quick edit or upload is a big change in our environment.

OK so to collaborate on a file it will need to be downloaded first, making an extra copy which then has to be uploaded after making changes? What about the web edit function? Would that work with single file shares?

Sorry for the confusion, what I meant to respond was that there is no way anyone can modify a 'single file share' currently.

ie even if they download and modify it, they cannot re-upload to that file location as such an option is not even possible.

OK, thanks for the extra information. That makes sense. So is there any way to collaborate on a single file?

Currently, if you want a single file to editable, then it needs to be inside a folder and the folder has to be shared.
