FileCloud 23.261 is now available
FileCloud version 23.261 is now available. This release introduces major updates across watermarking, multi-factor authentication, share approval workflows and auditing, plus expanded control panel support for beta Network Share Scanner services.
Key highlights in 23.261
Enhanced watermarking with easier navigation and granular rules
- A dedicated Watermark Settings page has been added to the Admin Portal navigation for easier access and administration.
- Admins can create watermark rules using a wizard, with conditions based on file extensions, user groups, policies, and file metadata, and customize watermark content per rule (including parameters like username and date).
Support for multiple MFA modes (more flexibility for admins and users)
- Admins can now configure multiple MFA modes per policy, including:
- Single Method (existing behavior)
- Multiple Methods (User Choice)
- Primary + Backup Methods (users configure two methods)
Share rejection improvements with a minimum rejection count
- Share approval workflows now support a Minimum rejection count, defining how many rejections are required before a share request is rejected, the requestor is notified, and the request is removed.
- The existing “Approval count” field is renamed to Minimum approval count for clarity.
Improved share approval audit logging
- Audit Logs include a new Automation Workflow operation filter showing share approval/rejection activity tied to share approval workflows, with detailed record messages (such as share owner, path, link/type, date, and approver/rejector).
Network Share Scanner + Events API controls in the FileCloud Control Panel (Beta)
- The Network Share Scanner (beta) supports advanced FileCloud capabilities for LAN-based Network Folders (including workflows, CDR, AV integration, metadata rules, DLP, and content classification).
- In 23.261, Events API, Network Share Scanner, and Etcd are now available as services in the FileCloud Control Panel, so admins can start these services (and Memcache) without relying solely on command line operations.
